Hedingham Castle was built by Aubrey de Vere II in around 1140, using the Archbishop of Rochester as his architect. Now the home of the Lindsay family, direct descendants of the de Veres and Earls of Oxford, the Castle towers over the village of Castle Hedingham on the Essex/Suffolk border.

Ground floor: Garden Cottage is a two storey cottage with ground floor entrance hall, sitting room with large bay window and TV/DVD player, dining room, shower room with WC/WB, and kitchen. The well-equipped kitchen, with large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, electric oven and gas hobs, has a small breakfast table and leads to a rear lobby, with washing machine and dryer, that leads into the attractive, mature garden.

First floor: Stairs to the first floor lead to a landing off which are one double bedroom, one twin bedroom and a small single bedroom (4’6” bed), all with attractive curtains and bed linen. Also off the landing is the new bathroom with large, double-ended bath with hand shower, WC/WB and cupboard. The cottage is centrally heated throughout.

Garden Cottage is approached through Hedingham Castle’s parkland with its own private gravel drive and parking outside the cottage.

PLEASE NOTE - No children under 10 years of age, but babies less than 6 months are permitted.
