Guest Comments for Ardnavaha House

"Thanks for a great week in your apartments. Wishing you every success with your new venture."

"An all too short intro to the delights of rural Co Cork. Food fantastic wherever we went. Cork as 'Switched on' as anywhere. Kinsale, Summercove (Bulman pub), Charles Fort... etc, etc. Apartment 7 had the most wonderful view of the valley and we walked over the top of the forestry opposite and beyond. Apartment tastefully decorated and furnished - a real home from home, and our hosts were very welcoming - nothing too much trouble. We look forward to returning!"

"I had an aromatherapy massage at the Natural Healing Rooms, 2 O'Rahilly Street, Clonakilty and it was the best I have ever had and very reasonably priced."

Mrs H

"Plenty of beaches and coves to visit - not enough time in one week to see them all. Plenty of information on places of interest."

Mr & Mrs I

"The restaurant 'Fishy Fishy' in Kinsale was very good with very fresh fish and seafood on the menu. Bantry House and Gardens are well worth a visit - lovely house in a beautiful location."

Mr & Mrs L

"The Valley view rooms are worth the extra charge for the view alone. This is a very quiet site, very peaceful yet within easy reach of activity."

Mrs P

"Excellent and challenging golf course at Lisselan which is aprox 2 miles away."

Mr & Mrs D

"Hire bikes in Clonakilty and cycle to Courtmacsherry via Timoleague. A beautiful ride past Timoleague Abbey and along the estuary teaming with rare sea birds."

Mr H

"Ireland is a place to relax – we did just that, range of information was very good, we enjoyed the shopping centres of the towns we visited – like stepping back 30 years or so."

Mrs F

"Recommend a round of golf at Lisselan Golf Club (about 2 miles) and Bantry Bay Golf Course (about 25 miles). Both clubs made us very welcome."

Mr & Mrs A

"We were visiting the Cork area principally for golf and good food. Golf – Bantry Bay (1 hr 15 min) very scenic, lots of blind holes. Bandon (15 mins) excellent test of golf. Pro very friendly. Lisselan (5 mins) 9 holes. One superb hole. Must play for the cable railways to 2 tees and the ferry raft to the 8/17th green. Old head (45 mins) magnificent but quite expensive. Visit for the views and the complimentary coffee and pastries! Food – Plenty excellent restaurants in Clonakilty (10 mins) and Kinsale (45 mins) and several at points in between."

Mr J F

"Clonakilty is bustling and attractive with lots of good pubs; but you must venture west and take time to wander through Ross Carbery (Nolan’s Inn, fantastic!), Glandore Union Hall & Castletownsend ending up in Baltimore and a trip to the islands. A bit further on is Bantry, with its glorious bay and then on to Glengariff – pretty, but a little bit ‘touristy’. To the east is Timoleague – pretty but quiet with Courtmacsherry alongside & with more ‘wooded’ character."

"The owners were very helpful and friendly and they and their staff couldn’t do enough for us. WONDERFUL!"

"Well we've spent our most relaxing Easter ever here. We've loved the comfortable apartment and fabulous views. The owners have been so friendly and having 2 labradors ourselves, its been great staying somewhere so 'dog-friendly'. The walk to the top of the hill opposite is fab too with amazing views."

Mr & Mrs W

"We had an excellent holiday and the apartment was clean and well equipped. There was a real Christmas tree in the apartment when we arrived, which was another nice touch. The grounds of Ardnavaha House are excellent for walking and the owners, Ian and Nikki made us very welcome including an invite to a New Year's Eve party. Also, tea and coffee were provided daily, free of charge in one of the vacant apartments. The general area is excellent with beautiful scenery and magnificent beaches and Ardnavaha House is well-placed for exploring the area."

"We were very happy with it all – relaxing and easy with most obliging staff. "
