Blairgowrie has three golf courses and there is one nearby at Alyth. Alyth Golf Course is an 18-hole course with tree lined fairways and diverse rolling terrain set in a tranquil setting and welcomes visitors.

The Sculptured Stone Museum houses a magnificent collection of 26 sculptured monuments, one of the most important site-specific assemblages of early medieval sculpture in Western Europe. This attraction is open from April through to November.

In the nearby village of Bankfoot is the Scottish Liqueur Farm. Each liqueur and whisky is hand-made to traditional recipes using the finest natural ingredients such as honey, cream and fresh fruit.

The Angus Folk Museum in Angus hosts one of the finest folk collections. This museum presents a vivid insight into how the rural workforce used to live. Near to this museum is Balmerino Abbey – the ruins of a Cistercian monastery, founded in 1229. Visitors may not enter the buildings, which are undergoing stabilisation work, but can view them from the grounds, which contain an ancient Spanish chestnut tree, one of the oldest in the country.

The House of Dun is a Georgian house which overlooks the Montrose Basin. The house contains royal mementos of the period and many examples of Lady Augusta’s wool work and embroidery. Courtyard buildings include a handloom weaving workshop. The Montrose Basin Nature Reserve is managed by the Scottish Wildlife Trust in association with The National Trust for Scotland and Angus Council.

Touted as 'Britain's largest ski area' with 40km of pistes, Glenshee is actually bigger than some of its more illustrious peers on the continent. The snowfields at Glenshee stretch over three valleys and four Munros, as well as off piste skiing. With its diversity of pistes, Glenshee offers something for everyone including three mountain restaurants offering a variety of hot and cold food.
