"A charming beautifully furnished and cared for cottage set in a very peaceful, private setting. A pleasure to stay in a cottage where everything works well! We had a wonderful time."
Mrs R E
"A truly magical place…like something out of a fairytale."

"Overall it was one of the most successful weekends in the UK I have ever had."
Mrs W
"Despite three days of torrential rain and two babies we had a wonderful week. The cottage was perfect and wonderfully remote, we could not have wished for anything different other than an extra week."
Ms R
"We have had a very relaxing holiday, such beautiful surroundings. It was wonderful seeing the deer come so close to the cottage."
Ms M
"We have greatly enjoyed our week in this haven of peace and tranquility. Perhaps the highlight of our visit was a day spent at Sandringham. It was just wonderful - a most worthwhile and unforgettable experience."
Ms J P & Ms H R
"Cottage wonderful! Do try the Duke's Head for chinese food, very good (take away as well). Superb lobster in Sheringham."
Ms P
"We had a wonderful time enjoying the peace and quiet that Bunkers Hill Cottage exudes. Our 'holiday hints' - go to Burnham Market - the bakery's great!, the Hoste Inn at Burnham Market has a wonderful environment and even better food, the Country Market on the way towards Burnham has great bread and nice delectables along with a very helpful, informative owner."
Ms A S
"Absolutely beautiful country retreat. We found the secluded location perfect and the deer, bunnies, and pheasant were enchanting."
Ms K R
"Plenty to do and information was excellent. We had a lovely time even when the ground was covered in snow. The peace and quiet, the hares and pheasants and the deer were all a delight."
Mrs W
"We found a lovely delicatessen on Main Street in Blakeney. Sculthorpe Mill in Sculthorpe offer good value food. There are lovely cream teas and excellent service at Buttercups Tea Shop in Cromer."
Mr & Mrs P

Mrs H
"Visits to Great Massingham and Burnham Market are a must plus Pensthorpe Bird Reserve in Fakenham."

"It's like being in a Hansel & Gretel cottage in the forest - a fairytale cottage in a beautiful setting."
Mrs R
"Thank you so much for just the most fabulous weekend break. We completely fell in love with bunkers from the minute we saw it looming out of the woods. Not only is the position beyond perfect, but it's so well equipped and gorgeously furnished. I can't wait to go back..."
Miss A
"Fishes Restaurant in Burnham Market is worth a visit. Wonderful beaches for dog walking - especially Brancaster and Holkham in winter."
Mr & Mrs B
"Bunkers Hill in the winter is lovely and cosy - don't let the time of year dictate when to go. A walk along the snow covered footpaths makes the log file something to treasure. Wildlife viewing from the window - deer, birds and weasel!!"
Mr & Mrs B
"It was nice to watch the barn owl hunting in the area beside the cottage at dusk and again at dawn on most days. A stroll to the little church at dusk gives a lovely tranquil end to the day, and the view of the great house from the church area is magnificent."
Ms J C W
"Bunkers Hill is a perfect location from which to explore Norfolk, or, if you choose, to remain in splendid isolation!"
Mr & Mrs T F
"We had a delightful week - fantastic weather - visited 5 stately homes, one wonderful park, Sheringham Park, plus walks along various sections of the north coast, and excellent meals in pubs and restaurants. What more could we ask for?"
Mrs D T
"Houghton Estate - This property (Bunkers Hill) was just right for our particular requirements i.e. one small dog and a 91 year old deaf and blind mother-in-law. Could we have more properties like this?"
Mr & Mrs B S
"The White Horse at Brancaster Staithe definitely worth a visit as is the beach at Brancaster. Houghton Hall and Gardens a must."
Miss C M
"Lovely cottage – peaceful setting. Houghton Estate house and gardens are very impressive. Excellent long weekend!"
A
"What a delightful cottage! We have been blessed with sunshine everyday – it does make a difference, but it would have been just as enjoyable if the sun had not shone. For the wildlife to be seen from the windows, ever changing as the Pierre David and white deer ‘circulate’, the Hares have their ‘meetings’ and ‘runs’ whilst the pheasants, well, just eat. Both Sandringham and Houghton Hall are recommended to visit."
Mr & Mrs P S
"A fantastic area to release in, and get away from it all. The ever-changing animal life is wonderful. Watch out for the Woodpeckers in the mornings. The Hares are amusing to watch, even one in the garden!"
The T's
"We have had a fantastic week here at the Waterhouse. Excellent accommodation, lovely scenery and 33°C! We would thoroughly recommend visiting Houghton Hall and the gardens. The centre aisle of the garden was fabulous. Holkham, and beach – and Burnham Market all worth visiting. Seek out artist Tom Cringle at Burnham Market, Blackhouse Gallery. Lovely, uncluttered paintings of sea, sand and sky. We couldn’t resist taking some home. Quite a change in scenery for us from the mountains of the Lake District, but the big skies are very relaxing – and we’ve done quite a bit of that!"
Mr & Mrs L N
"Sculthorpe Mill – What a find! Sitting outside with the sunshine and a Shandy, and the Ducks on a summer afternoon – and returning in the evening for a fabulous meal in the restaurant with a view over the river (A148 on way to Fakenham)."
"Ideal location for a peaceful week away! Great to relax of an evening with a glass of wine, watching the wildlife wander by."
"A fantastic week in this beautiful cottage which we hate to leave! We’ve had mixed weather which has allowed us to be indoors and outdoors and fully appreciate both the garden and the courtyard sun (when available!) is in the courtyard from early afternoon, and the cosy cottage. Eating – (very close to our hearts!) Great basic provisions (and especially Granary Bread, Hand-sliced bacon) in Bircham. Windmill at Bircham also great for cakes and pies etc. Gurney’s Fish Shop, Burnham Market - wonderful Thai-style fishcakes. Humble Pie Deli, Burnham Market – very good paté, cheese etc."
"It rained, we came, the sun shone at Hunstanton, kids on the Beach. Weather variable. Thursday very windy, the children had great fun on the pebble beach at Clay, then the sheltered Pine Woods at Holkham, lovely crab sandwiches at the Hero at Overy Staithe – children friendly. All enjoyed Deer watching from the windows."
Mr & Mrs T M
"We stayed for a short winter break and had a great time. The weather was kind to us, we had no rain but we wanted snow! Maybe another time!
We enjoyed watching the wild life – deer, rabbits, hares. Took the girls to Burnham Market for Christmas shopping and dinner at the Hoste Arms. We will be back."
D, S, C & P
"We came for a lovely, relaxing ‘girly’ weekend away. We were not disappointed! The Waterhouse is all we could have hoped for! Beautiful, warm and welcoming. Just what we all needed. The log fire was very welcome, especially after a freezing trip out to see the seals. I don’t think I’ve ever been that cold!!"
L, J & V
"A lovely holiday retreat. The Deer Park is fabulous and very interesting natural life to observe all round. Our dog loves the garden."
"Despite mixed weather, this has been a week filled with delightful memories. The Waterhouse is everything the visitor could wish for in a rural location. Peaceful, calming setting with many interesting places to visit locally. The white deer joining us for supper were a sight to behold in the evenings. The Wells & Walsingham Railway – Departures Wells or Great Walsingham. Great fun for children of all ages including one due for retirement who was the biggest child of all."
"Beautiful, well equipped cosy cottage, arrived in the snow. Visited Nature Reserve at Hunstanton – very pot-holed road but beach beautiful and quiet – worth a visit. Burnham Market and Holt – quaint places, Sandringham gift shop – lots of lovely things. Harry (Golden Retriever) enjoyed walks up the lane & on the beaches. Would love to come back again."
