"This was a superb property and Mr and Mrs C could not have welcomed us more. We will certainly return at some point in the future."

"The quite strenuous walk to the top of the hill behind the property is well worth it when you reach the wonderful scenery and walking area at the top - outstanding views."

Mr & Mrs H

"Superbly furnished and equipped, owners were very helpful. Plenty to do and loads of leaflets and info were in the property."

Mr & Mrs W

"This is a lovely property with the most attentive owners who made us so welcome. We would also recommend the walks from the house."

"Cartmel Priory is off the beaten track when heading for the Lake District but is well worth a visit. If visiting Grasmere go to Sarah Nelson's Gingerbread shop. The gingerbread is delicious. There are also pretty waterfalls around force Bridge."

Mrs J

"Summer or Winter, the Hunister Slate Mine (guided tours) is excellent. For good restaurants you need to travel further a field. The Mortal Man, Troutbeck serves good quality food at reasonable prices. For a tip top restaurant (with a stunning view), Hulbeck Ghyll Hotel between Windermere and Ambleside is hard to beat."

Mr & Mrs C

"Lunch at L'Enclume in Cartmel is very good value at £25 - this was not shown on the external menu when we visited - need to go inside and ask. Brantwood is interesting for visits and light meals - especially outside in good weather."

Mr & Mrs W

"Easy access to Lakeland Falls for walking and also National Trust properties within easy reach i.e. Town End House at Troutbeck and Beatrice Potter’s Cottage at New Sawrey."

"Enjoy the free pass to Holker Hall then have tea and cake in the café. The gardens are lovely. You are made very welcome because of being a guest of Nibthwaite Grange."

Mrs J H

"Holker Hall is an excellent visit, and Haverthwaite Railway and Windermere Lake Cruise are both interesting and relaxing. Cartmel priory and Cartmel Village are interesting and peaceful. Visit Lakeside Hotel for lunch or an excellent evening meal."

"More than enough places of interest - we had to return! Mrs Clowes provided an excellent array of brochures and also personally advised us when she warmly welcomed us and was available throughout our stay."
