Whelprigg House

Whelprigg House

Whelprigg House was built in 1834 for one of the local landowning families in the Lunesdale region, the Gibson family. The house was designed and supervised by the well known firm of architects, Websters of Kendal - various additions to the house were made in the early 1900s.

The property was then acquired in 1921 by the Bowring family who continue to own it, along with the surrounding estate.
